Music Tuition
Fancy learning a musical instrument? Or do you want to revisit an old hobby?
Music is amazing and I love sharing what it can do with others. My aim as a teacher is to develop well-rounded musicians with great musical awareness. I promote great technique, music reading and theory through playing all kinds of musical genres, from pop to classical. I often include improvisation and composition in to my lessons and allow creativity in music to flourish. Music can be so much more than just reading the notes!
I teach all ages from beginner to advanced. There is something for everyone and lessons will be tailored to each individual. Whatever approach you may want to take, I am here to guide and adapt my teaching to suit.
What instruments do I teach?
I teach flute, saxophone, clarinet and piano. I can support you in choosing your instrument and offer a free taster where you can try the instruments and decide which one is for you!
I also teach music theory and can help with GCSE/A-level music.
Where do lessons take place?
Monday and Tuesday
Lessons take place in my home studio in Silsden (BD20) or can be done online using remote technology. I aim to create a relaxed environment with great facilities and resources.
Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays
Lessons take place at Kirklees Guitar School in Denby Dale (HD8). More information can be found on the KGS website or Facebook page.
Exams
Exams are not essential but are a great addition to music education. I teach a number
of exam boards and students taking exams will be well prepared and on a syllabus that best suits them.
